
During your initial appointment our Physiotherapist completes an assessment of your mobility,
flexibility, strength and balance to help identify potential injury risk factors. We utilise VALD dynamometry and force plates to
provide objective data to inform the injury screening and to help monitor progression throughout your rehabilitation.
You will be provided with an individualised injury prevention programme that targets identified areas from your assessment to help you achieve your ski related goals and reduce your risk of injury whilst on your trip. As part of our ski performance programme, we will also provide you with a recommended warm-up routine for whilst away to best prepare you for your day on the slopes.

Start a ski-specific mobility and strength programme 3-months prior to your trip.

Have an injury screening appointment to identify potential risk factors and make your prevention
programme personalised.
3.
Think about the equipment you will need for your trip (skis / board, helmet, goggles, boots and
bindings, poles, clothing, wrist guards, impact pads) ensuring it is appropriate for your ski level and has been serviced as needed.
4.
Familiarise yourself with a warm-up routine to implement when on the slopes
5.
Monitor the weather and adapt your routes / slope difficulty as needed
6.
Where possible plan your routes and avoid busy periods

Complete a daily warm-up and cool down to improve joint mobility, activate the
necessary muscles, increase body temperature

Stay hydrates, avoid excessive alcohol and eat well to prevent loss of energy, los of coordination,
muscle cramping and fatigue
3.
Ski within your limits, listen to your body and plan your routes - stay
